Madison Avenue Monday: Join the Jumbo Jet Set

Ok, I'm still trying to figure these "ensembles" out: are these cocktail outfits for your everyday woman or glittery chicken costumes for showgirls?

Can you tell me just where were the women of 1968 supposed to debut these "Insta-knits" made with "Jumbo Jet" knitting needles?

  1. Show Girls in Chicken Costumes. Yeppers that's what it looks like to me!

  2. They look like the outfits on the Bond girls in On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969). New Year's Eve in Vale? Isn't that a young Lauren Hutton?

    1. It does look like Lauren Hutton. But I think she was already on the cover of Vogue by this time...would she have done such a shoot then? If only she had smiled wider we would know for sure! *wink*
