What a charming ad and name for a brand of girdles. I wonder if it came from the fact that the brand wanted to convey that you could skip along merrily in this comfortable underpinnings? This does look like a comfy girdle, you know. I'd love to try Skippie's offerings if these products were still around.

Seriously, women still wore corsets in 1954. I don't think so. But the ad is adorable nonetheless!
