Madison Avenue Monday: Color-Blocking

If you've read this blog for a while you know that color-blocking is one of my favorite trends.  I found this fashion spread of knitwear sheaths designed by Sophie Dess in the Spring-Summer 1972 issue of McCall's Needlework & Crafts.  I think that they can definitely stand alongside some of the color-blocked looks for Fall 2012.

      I like both of the black dresses with chevrons! I agree -- too cute!

    I really like how, with a little creative styling, I think the dress on the right in the first image could be used in a 1920s outfit, too (perhaps it's the born multi-tasker in me, but I just adore it when a piece can work well for looks from more than one decade).
